SUR (Spanish for United Retransmission System), is an international corporation founded over 20 years ago.

SUR is a window into the united Latin American nations and a place where emigrants can connect to their roots.

Our mission is to bring national television to the Latin American emigrant population: fresh, current, relevant, without cuts or edits and with source authenticity.

Our vision is to reach every Latin home in the United States, bringing news and the day-to-day of our nations. In this way preserving our rich Latin Culture for future generations and keeping alive the interest in the realities of the land we were born in and was the home of our ancestors.

At the end of the 80's, Latin American radio and television businessman Hector Delgado Parker noticed something that worried him: The lack of information all Latin Americans had about our countries in comparison to the abundance of information that reached us from countries in North America and Europe.

Being so close and with so many cultural similarities, it was very little what we Latin Americans knew about our neighbors and brothers. Therefore, Delgado Parker decides to shape a television channel that informs all Latin American emigrants about the realities of their country of origin.

It is this way, in mid-1992, that Canal SUR is launched, presented as a kind of "United Latin American Nations". In this space, each country can show its reality and show to the world its experiences, problems, strengths and weaknesses.
